Libreria Centro:
A large scaled revolving bookcase designed by Claudio Salocchi in 1959 and first produced by Sormani in 1960. The libreria is composed of a quartered square base with a central black steel column onto which are attached either one or two levels of open shelf cabinetry. Each level of shelving includes two large and two small cabinets, creating an asymmetrical appearance. The Libreria Centro has been highly acclaimed since its introduction and is owned by some of the world’s most discriminating collectors, including Karl Largerfeld. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the design of this piece by Salocchi, Sormani will produce only twenty Libreria Centro’s. Each will have a signed and numbered metal plaque affixed to the base on the central column. In addition, a letter of authenticity from Luigi Sormani will accompany each piece. Libreria Centro is available in two sizes and three finishes: Rosewood, Black Lacquer and White Lacquer .
